Machinist Operator Assistant
Clackamas, OR

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a machinist operator assistant for the CNC mill department of a local metal shop in Clackamas, Oregon.

Responsibilities of the Machinist Assistant:
Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part and sample work pieces.
Maintain specification by observing drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operation.
Take measurements, detect malfunctions, troubleshoot processes, adjust and reprogram controls, sharpen and replace worn tools.
Perform equipment preventive maintenance
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and call for repairs as needed.

Compensation for the Machinist Assistant:
$17-20/hour DOE

Requirements of the Machinist Assistant:
1 year of CNC mill machinist assistant or operating experience.
Thorough knowledge of CNC Mills including basic programming.
Basic knowledge of loading tools, loading material and operations.
Ability to read and interpret drawings/specs.
Understanding of basic math and hand held measuring tools.
Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, standing for long periods, sitting, reaching and mobility around shop.
High school diploma or GED
