This Job is located in Hillsboro, OR:
Seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to work for a recycling company in Hillsboro and also assist in other locations in Portland on a weekly basis.

Primary functions:
Under the direction of the maintenance supervisor, maintain and repair all warehouse equipment while following the standards set forth in the company Mission Statement, the company Policies and Procedures Handbook, and the company Safety and Health guidelines.

Responsibilities include:
" Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure that machines and rolling stock run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
" Inspect, operate, or test machinery or rolling stock equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
" Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them utilizing repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
" Inspect, clean, lubricate, repair or replace mechanical components including but not limited to drives, motors, belts, fluids, filters, shafts, bearings, or gears
" Perform tasks such as welding and metal fabrication.
" Document type of maintenance or repair work on company forms and/or computer software. " Maintain a safe and clean work area.
" Must be available to work a variety of shifts, overtime, and perform "on-call" responsibilities to accommodate production needs and occasionally work at other FWR locations.
" Must be able to work independently as well as in a team atmosphere.
" Reliable and predictable on-site attendance is necessary.
" Willing to perform other duties as required and assigned by management.

Skills and attributes:
" Must have 3 years of experience in trouble shooting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing plant manufacturing equipment or school equivalent.
" Possess a strong understanding of hydraulics and mechanics as applied to heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
" Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
" Possess basic math skills and willing to improve beyond basic computer skills.
" Assess and meet internal customer's needs while maintaining composure in a stressful work environment.
" Convey information effectively in written and oral format.
" Willing to work in elevated surfaces, narrow and confined spaces.
" Possess a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
