MECHANIC - PLANT OPERATOR

LOCATION: BATTLEGROUND, WASHINGTON

An Aggregate Plant Operator and Mechanic is required to perform sampling and inspection work as well as repair plant machinery. This role will operate the rock, sand, and gravel plant equipment to crush, wash, or segregate materials used in construction. Compiling information for reports regarding plant production and plant maintenance is a key responsibility; some work may include analyzing data and making various computations.

Responsibilities:

" Perform all job duties in accordance with OSHA, WSHA, DOSH and company policies.
" Wear PPE at all times.
" Monitors processing equipment including crushers, conveyors and screens.
" Ensures safe and efficient operation of production processes
" Records operational or production data
" Examines materials, ingredients, or products visually or by hand to ensure conformance to established standards.
" Keeping accurate inventory of cement, fly ash, admixtures, aggregates, etc.
" Report any deviations from the norm that might impact production, quality or processing efficiencies.
" Performs regular maintenance and cleaning on the Batch Plant
" Charges plant with aggregates
" Lock block production
" Meeting production schedules
" Housekeeping of yard
" Addressing environmental issues

Skills and Qualifications

" Must be able to effectively communicate and safely follow directions
" Experience with moving and manipulating the controls to control the feeding, crushing, and screening machinery.
" Familiarity with testing procedures, with measuring equipment, and with production equipment is required.
" Experience with maintenance of plant equipment is an asset.
" Able to perform some maintenance work on company vehicles a plus.
" Mechanical knowledge a must
" Fabrication and welding experience a must
" Ability to work at heights
" Ability to multi-task
" Must be able to work without direct supervision
" The successful candidate will have a proven safety record as well as a history of being a team player.
" Shift work and overtime will be required

These will be rotating shifts. 6am-3, 3pm-12am, and possibly an overnight shift.

Must be able to pass a drug test and background screening.

Mirelda is responsible for recruitment and placement of industrial/construction laborers, welders, equipment operators, machinists, and other skill trade specialists. Mirelda was also safety director and handled safety-related issues and training of hearing conservation, log out tag out, confined space and Contingency plan. Mirelda was the first female to be Hazmat certified for that company. As a first responder, Mirelda was also in charge of maintaining all Hazmat equipment. She is bi-lingual (Spanish / English) and received Volunteer of the Year award for her dedication and service to disaster victims. Mirelda also established her own business where she designs jewelry using semi precious stones. Her hobbies include gardening, sewing, extreme couponing, and spending time with her precious grandchildren.
