Clackamas, OR

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a press operator for the stamping department of a local metal shop in Clackamas, Oregon.

Responsibilities of the Stamping Operator:
" Set up, operate, and tend to machines in order to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal.
" Perform typical press operations, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
" Start machines, monitor operations, and record operational data.
" Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
" Examine completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
" Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to department supervisor.
" Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required. Clean and lubricate machines.
" Maintain work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

Compensation of the Stamping Operator:
$17-20/hour DOE
Comprehensive benefit package

This position is 90 days temp to hire, day shift (6: 00 am-4: 30 pm) Monday-Thursday.

Requirements of the Stamping Operator:
3 years of experience in a press environment/factory
High school diploma or GED
Ability to lift 50 lbs on a frequent basis

Prior to working at Madden she worked in safety and compliance at an electronics recycling company. Jasmine received her Associate of Science degree from Blue Mountain Community College. She also received a Certificate of Professional Zoo Keeping at CAT TALES Zoological Training Center, and is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Science at Oregon State University. Jasmine loves spending time outside with her family and dog. In her spare time she volunteers at the Wildlife Care Center at the Audubon Society of Portland.
