Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Machinist Specialist for the shipyards in N. Portland. Working in a team environment, sets up and operates machines and machining centers to produce parts per specified requirements.

" Machine parts to print and within budget using shop equipment in a fast paced environment.
" Complies with craft best practices and Vigor safety policies.
" Demonstrate proficiency on knee mills, drill presses, engine lathes, and vertical and horizontal mills. CNC knowledge a plus.
" Works from ship specifications, work orders and applicable working drawings and blueprints.
" Responsible for being conversant in all quality assurance requirements.
" Apply a working knowledge of ship repair pertaining to the machine shop.

- 3+ years as a Manual Machinst on Lathes & Mills.
- Has his/her own basic tools such as test indicator, travel indicator, calipers, edge finder, dead blow hammer, scientific calculator, 123 blocks, combination square, machinist handbook
- Flexibility. Adaptive to shop needs as they change
- Be able to work in a team environment or independently as needed.
- Able to communicate clearly written and oral.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions, regarding daily functions, safety rules, regulations, and possible hazardous conditions.

- $26- 30.00/hour DOE.
