Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking to fill a Millwright Supervisor for one of our clients located in N Portland. This is a machine shop working on military ships and vessels. They will manage a team of millwrights for outfitting and assembly of new project builds.

Responsibilities:
Lead a team to disassemble, diagnose, repair or replace, reassemble and test small to large assemblies for new builds and the ship repair industry.
Clean up as you go to make sure your job site remains well-organized and free of unnecessary clutter.
Fit bearings, shafts, attach motors, and connect and align couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
Assemble and test mechanical components.
Will read blueprints, diagrams, bill of materials, schematics and other technical documents to dismantle and assemble equipment.
Develop plans and sequencing for assemblies.
Has a solid, working knowledge of rigging and overhead crane operation, lifting device use and inspection and load calculations.
Use a variety of hand tools and measuring tools. You will lift heavy objects, physically manipulate objects with tools as needed utilizing cranes and other equipment to complete large-scale projects in your daily job duties.
Electro-mechanical assembly work.
Assigns work, maintaining staffing plan, budget and schedule as a guide.
Sets daily production goals, measures performance and provides feedback to employees.
Provides training and mentor or assists to assign/resource training as needed on safety, use of equipment and work procedures.
Evaluates employees on skills and work performance and reports progress to craft management.
Qualifications:
4-5+ years as a Millwright Supervisor in an industrial setting.
Recent experience demostrating this person can lead a team to disassemble, diagnose, repair or replace, reassemble and test small to large assemblies for new builds and the ship repair industry.
Has a solid, working knowledge of rigging and overhead crane operation, lifting device use and inspection and load calculations.
Experience in the following areas:
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company s policies and applicable laws.
Interviewing, selection and hiring, training new and existing employee
planning, and assigning and directing work.
Authoring and discussing with employees performance appraisals.
Addressing employee performance and corrective action plans.
Rely on extensive machining, fabrication experience and judgment to plan and accomplish objectives.
