Plant Mechanic
Canby, Oregon

The Plant Mechanic works at the aggregate mining plant and reports to the Plant Supervisor. This position primarily carries out maintenance duties on the processing equipment while the plant is down.

Primary Responsibilities:
o Various maintenance associated with processing equipment; feeders, conveyors, screens, crushers, pumps, sand screws, log washers, chutes, etc.
o Supports the Plant Operator while the plant is in operation. This could involve cleanup, lubrication and assisting in the operation of the aggregate plant.
o Operate some mobile equipment, such as cleanup loaders, water trucks, man-lifts, loaders and haul trucks to feed materials to the plant and carry products away.
o This position does require working swing and/or graveyard shifts.
o Conduct general routine maintenance on the aggregates plant
o Welding and fabricating
o Plant lubrication
o Conveyor maintenance
o Perform daily housekeeping
o Assist Plant Operator in the operation of the plant

Union membership is required upon hire.

Skills and Qualifications:
o Mechanical knowledge is a must
o Ability to cut and weld is a must
o Familiarity with aggregates plant operations and equipment is a plus
o A valid driver s license
o Ability to lift 50-100 lbs occasionally, 25-50 lbs frequently
o Willingness and ability to work on rotating shifts and Saturdays
o Self-starter and a team player
o Ability to operate larger mobile equipment is a plus
