We have a client located in Tualatin, Oregon seeking a Shipping & Receiving Team Leader. The Shipping and Receiving Team Lead manages the shipping and receiving department. They are responsible for verifying and recording incoming and outgoing shipments as well as warehouse operations. This position is responsible for domestic and international logistics, data entry into the ERP, staging and preparatory work, loading, unloading and forklift operation. S/he assists with determining the root causes for issues along with implementing solutions using the corrective action process.

Key Accountabilities:
Team Lead duties:
" Provide each employee with a daily work schedule
" Monitor production to ensure schedule attainment
" Provide (directly or indirectly) necessary training for all team members
" Ensure that ALL team member are properly trained for the job being preformed
" Review planned jobs to ensure parts availability before work begins and schedule team members to resolve any issues pertaining to schedule attainment
" Ensure maintenance is properly notified, in a timely manner, of any equipment issues. TL will ensure upstream departments are given product needed in a timely manner, to attain 95%+ on time delivery
" Conduct daily kanban/supermarket audits to ensure timely replenishments of stock items
" Participate in the RTB meeting
" Ensure that all team members have all required personal protective equipment and tools/tooling needed to conduct the job in a safe, quality, and productive manner
" Attend all scheduled meeting/events
" Communicate overtime needs to the Operations Manager. No overtime if to be working without the Operations Manager approval
" Effectively cross-train back Team Lead in all aspects of the job
" Set a good example for the team by arriving timely, working hard, and refraining from defamatory comments about the company or its team members
" Assist other team leads as needed to ensure all plant objectives can be met
Shipping duties:
" Review and prioritize daily shipments based on Master Build Schedule and coordinate with carriers to ensure delivery schedule is met.
" Generate sales order pick-list, gather stock items and prepare them for shipment
" Determine the appropriate method for each shipment and prepare the required shipping documentation for local, domestic and international shipments as needed.
" Knowledge of tariff codes
" Create bills of ladings and examine outgoing shipments to ensure stock items are adequately packaged in order to prevent damage during shipment.
" Monitor and maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies such as pallets, boxes and packaging materials.
Receiving duties:
" Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and inform internal purchasing department if there is damaged stock or shortages.
" Unload, unpack and cross-check items against the PO and enter receipt into the ERP system.
" Mark and/or put labels on the items received with part IDs.
" Route items to appropriate departments, sort and place stock on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined stock locations specified in the ERP system.
" Arrange boxes, material, and other industrial equipment in a neat, safe and orderly manner.
" Drive truck to pick-up or deliver items to external warehouse or local suppliers.
" Perform cycle count against ERP reports and assist with the reconciliation process.
General duties:
" Load and unload materials, parts, or products manually or via forklift onto or from pallets, skids, or trucks.
" Operate forklift and overhead crane to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
" Compare identifying information and count items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of ladings, packing lists, invoices, orders, or other records.
" Assist the Supervisor in warehouse organization (6S), lean manufacturing, productivity improvements, and maintaining key metrics in the overall performance of picking, shipping and receiving.
" Adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices and report any potential hazards to Supervisor.
" Attend meetings and training as required.
" Manage a team and effectively delegate duties.
" Any other duties assigned that fall within the employee's capabilities.

Minimum Education/Experience/ Skills requirements:
" High school Diploma or foreign equivalent.
" Minimum of 5 years' experience in shipping and receiving.
" 3 years' experience with an ERP/ MRP system (Made to Manage preferred).
" Experience in working in heavy duty machining/ manufacturing/ warehouse environment.
" In-depth knowledge of shipping documentation for local, domestic and international shipment including knowledge of tariffs and international shipping requirements.
" A good command of the English language is required, both written and verbal.
" Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (specifically outlook, word, and excel)
" Ability to work in a fast-paced environment dealing with ad-hoc issues when required.
" Valid driver's license.
" Experienced in driving forklift and overhead crane. Training will be provided if needed.
" Attention to detail is required.
" Excellent organizational, prioritizing, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
" NAFTA experience would be desirable.

o Use of basic tools and equipment
" Work environment:
o Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing areas may be required and will require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
o The work environment will include their own workstation or cubicle space equipped with a telephone, computer and printer as required for the job.
o Team member must be mobile enough to navigate the manufacturing shop floor safely including walking and standing for long periods of time.
