TOOL GRINDER

**Position located in Beaverton**
Position could be short term or potentially work into long term temp to hire.

Working in toolroom - strong attention to details, ability to read prints, drawing and schematics.
Experience setting up CNC grinding machines and other equipment such as bench and surface grinders) to sharpen cutting tools. Experience with Tool & Die, GD&T, ID/OD grinding specifications are a plus.
" Brazes or solders carbide tips to cutting tools.
" Works from blueprints, sketches or verbal description in order to build, rebuild, modify or repair all parts producing tooling.
" Measures cutting tools to verify conformance to specifications, using fixed gages, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators and surface gages.
" Grinds special form tools, involving special set-ups and wheel dressing. May analyze specifications and select tooling to be used on production jobs.
" Sets up and operates CNC cutter grinder.
" Adheres to all Company policies and procedures, including all safety requirements.
" Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
" Successful completion of high school or equivalent plus four or more years of relevant technical training. Apprenticeship in lieu of 4 years of technical training may be considered. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
" Previous tool grinding experience preferred.
" Working knowledge of machine shop practices.
" Knowledge of shop mathematics and layout machining.
" Ability to use lathes and vertical mills.
" Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
" Ability to use specialized grinding machines and tool shop machines to close tolerances, +/- .0001.
" CNC cutter grinder experience, operating and setting up.
" Good manual dexterity.
" Good interpersonal communication skills.

* Flexible shift & open to temp which could turn into long-term.
